Easy To Use Interface

Deep Paint interface is easy-to-use with three tabs for central tasks - Clone, Paint and Print. Selecting a tab automatically loads the tools required for the task.

The Clone window allows further image editing and enhancements to be made using detailed paint and paint effect settings.

The Paint window consists of the main components, canvas, menus, palettes and the command panel tabs.

Print interface gives a preview of the image with available settings including the ability to add borders.

Paints

A splendid array of paints let you capture the full range and depth of real world paints. Deep Paint faithfully reproduces the authentic 3D textural and interactive qualities of traditional painting. Oils, watercolors, colored and charcoal pencils, felt pens and markers, chalks, pastels, gouache, acrylics, crayons and many more artistic media.

Brushes

If you can paint or draw with it, Deep Paint has it. Or, if it doesn’t you can create it.
Three varieties of brush types; Simple, Artist, and Airbrush are available and are fully editable and look, feel and interact like their real world counterparts.

Preview the brush shape on the canvas before painting. Stroke preview shows an example stroke of the current preset.

Presets

Presets are combinations of brush and paint settings, they can be quickly changed, created, or edited and saved for later use. You can organize presets into categories and even share them from a central server across a team of artists.

Texture Paint

Texture Paint is one of Deep Paint’s preset categories and lets you paint with images as brush tips. Paint with your own images or select from the many included.

Dynamic 3D Lighting

3D lighting and texture control lets you view realistic lighting from any angle. Set spotlights to cast shadows over Deep Paint’s 3D painting effects.

Layers

Layers let you get the most from Deep Paint and are like stacked panes of glass. If you paint on the top layer, it hides anything painted on layers below, while any gaps will reveal the layers below. Layers may be reordered, made visible or hidden.

Cloning

Cloning offers a fast way to create new and exciting content from photorealistic to extremely abstract. Standard and Artistic Cloning are offered through an easy-to-use slider control. Stroke-by-stroke Photos or other images can be easily transformed into artwork in any medium, or combinations of mediums, from rich oil paintings to delicate charcoals.

The capture feature allows you to quickly define a temporary image stamp by capturing a piece of the current material.

Spline Tools

New in version 2.0
Splines, or curves can be created, edited and saved and used to create selection masks, define the path of a brush stroke with more accuracy than by hand, or to repeat the same brushstroke with different settings. Brushes can be set to snap-to the spline as you paint.

Photoshop Plug-in
Deep Paint includes a companion plug-in for Photoshop.

Although Deep Paint may be used as a stand-alone program, it is designed to complement Photoshop’s powerful editing and image processing capabilities by adding artistic tools. Deep Paint complements Photoshop in the following ways:

Fast 2-way workflow between Photoshop and Deep Paint
Same layer concepts, including layer export and import
Color pickers and swatches work in a similar way and support Photoshop .ACO color swatches
Same hot keys as Photoshop wherever possible
Deep Paint supports both RGB and CMYK images

Use other Photoshop compatible plug-ins from within Deep Paint. Note: Not all Photoshop plug-ins are supported

Tablet Support

Deep Paint is greatly enhanced with the use of a pressure sensitive drawing tablet. Many of Deep Paint’s most expressive features respond to changes in pen pressure, angle, direction or speed of movement. Deep Paint provides extra features support for Wacom® tablets including the Intuos airbrush™ and 4D-Mouse™.
